Product Review: Nilotiqa ‘the Shea & coco collection’ Hair products.

Hey guys.. Happy new month yay! My birthday is actually in 3 days but this isn’t about me so I’ll move on lol.

So I received these Nilotiqa hair products from ‘the Shea and coco collection’ range from the amazing people at Afri Beauty Hub (@Afribeautyhub) on Instagram over a month and was supposed to do a review on them. Since I wanted the review to be as detailed and accurate as possible judging from my experience, I had to take my time trying out these products so I could give you guys the right information coupled with the fact that I’ve been a little busy lately but it’s all good. Quite a number of times, some readers have asked me to talk about products I use and stuff but I try not to because I realize that everyone’s hair is different and what works for you may not work for me and vice versa. So my review of these products is totally based on my experience using them. So let’s get to it.

I received four Nilotiqa products from Afri beauty hub. Afri Beauty hub is a brand that focuses solely on sales of ‘Made in Africa’ only products. How cool is that? It’s really dope considering that we have all we need right here in Africa and don’t need to go looking elsewhere.
These products were made with love from South Africa and my box contained the following items:
– Replenishing conditioner (Deep moisture cowash).
– Detangling cream (with Shea butter, coconut oil and panthenol).
– Nourishing oil (100% natural oils with Marula oil, Jojoba oil and coconut oil).
– Deep moisture butter (with Shea butter and coconut oil).

So in order of my most favorite to least favorite…
– Nilotiqa Nourishing Oil:
This is by far the most genius product I’ve used on my hair since I started my hair journey. This bottle of oil contains a mix of Marula oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil all 100% natural. I mean what could be better than having an already made spray bottle of some of the best oils for your hair? I use this mainly after spraying my hair with water to lock the moisture in. I also apply some of this on my edges too. I used it for my hot oil treatment and was so impressed with the result. Guys this oil is a must have to be honest. I like it because it’s very light and doesn’t weigh your hair down at all.
The 4.2oz bottle I received costs N1500 only from Afri Beauty hub and I’ll definitely be purchasing one when this one is out which will be soon judging from how much I love it.
– Next is the Nilotiqa Detangling cream:

I don’t know who else can relate to what I’m saying when I say I feel joy when I use this stuff on my hair because it just makes the knots in my hair melt and makes it super easy to detangle. I don’t know if it’s because of the texture of my hair so I have to apply a sizable quantity to my hair to get the best out of it but it’s totally worth it and your fingers or comb just glides through your hair. The fact that my hair really loves Shea butter which is one of the major ingredients of this Detangling cream is great.. Best feeling.
The 8.4oz bottle I received costs N2500 and my chance of repurchasing this product is a strong 8 out of 10.

– I also received the Nilotiqa Replenishing cowash:

I always used to wonder what used to make peoples hair appear so curly after a wash then I just assumed it was their texture, till I used this cowash and my curls were seriously popping. I was so impressed to be honest. Tried taking pictures but none of them came out well I’m sorry. In my opinion, this product will be great for a wash and go. Using it didn’t dry my hair out at all instead it felt soft to touch and really bouncy lol.
The 8.4oz bottle I received costs N1500 only. To think that I didn’t have any cowash conditioner before this bottle is such a shame lol. I’m staying hooked to this one for now.

– Last but not the least on my list is the Nilotiqa Deep moisture butter.
This is a really good product but the reason it’s my least favorite is because it’s not heavy enough to seal in moisture on my hair due to the texture of my hair. I like using heavy oils such as jbco or butters like shea butter to seal my hair and although this product contains Shea butter, I don’t think it’s heavy enough for my hair. But if you have fine / sparse hair, this product will be great for your hair. It’s smells really nice and it feels so smooth to touch lol.
The 6.7oz tub which I received costs N3000 only.
What I’ll do is give this particular product to a reader that will be present at the Ibadan city naturals meet up happening on the 13th of August. See poster below or follow me @ellamedupin or @afribeautyhub on IG for more details and please indicate your interest if you’re going to be there.

In all, I’ve been enjoying the use of these products and knowing that they were made in Africa gives me so much joy! I also love that these products are very affordable which is one of the things I look out for when purchasing products for my hair. I still don’t believe in breaking the bank to grow healthy hair. So guys you can check out @Afribeautyhub on IG or for all sorts of beauty, hair and skin products made in Nigeria and Africa at large.

I hope this post was helpful. Did I leave any thing out? Let me know in the comment section and I’ll be happy to reply. Have a wonderful week and month ahead. All my love… Ella
